简单介绍一下:Jazz Chants 是一种通过节奏来表达语言的方法,它把有节奏的美式英语口语与美国传统的爵士乐节奏联系起来,是一种自然语言的再现。

Jazz Chants所表现的不是一种夸大了的韵文效果,而更像节奏强烈的对话、诗歌。

其节奏、重音、语调和我们平时听到美国人在生活中对话时的节奏、重音和语调是一模一样的。

典型的Jazz Chants有以下特点:1) 体现自然英语口语的节奏是Jazz Chants成功的关键。

“Jazz Chants 的节拍揭示了美式英语和传统的美国爵士乐节奏的内在关联。

”(Graham,1998)“Jazz Chants的节奏大大地帮助了记忆” (Hara,2003) ,强烈的节奏和富有趣味的对话让学生们轻而易举地就把一首 chant 记住了,再加上音乐、动作和角色扮演等其他辅助教学手段,教学效果就能事半功倍了。

2) Jazz Chants能激起学生的兴趣,让学生全身心的投入学习。

学生随着 chant 的节奏朗读、对话、吟唱、打节拍和做各种动作,因此可以说Jazz Chants和音乐、歌曲一起让学生愉快的学习英语。

在纽约大学教授二年级学生时,Graham教授还让学生自己撰写chants,从而创造出一个既轻松又有意思的学习环境,让他们在这样的氛围里学习和使用英语。

3)Jazz Chants 是有意义的语言交际活动。

表面上看,Jazz Chants在某种程度上有些像传统的听说法的句型操练,然而它却没有机械性语言操练的先天不足。

Jazz Chants是有意义的、有趣味的交际性对话,它所使用的语言是真实的、实用的。

4)Jazz Chants是互动性的。

尽管Jazz Chants这一教学模式有着大量的重复练习,但这种重复练习始终存在于两人或多人的相互应答之中。
