InVocabulary Focus, the first vocabulary task, along with the cultural notes, could be used as the basis for a discussion on the topic of marriages around the world.
The grammar focus looks at thepresent perfect.
Beyond theText
Studentscompare wedding costs and think about the important things for themselves.
InReading and Understanding,Task2looks at genre followed by a task on stress.Rather than asking students to mark the whole text for stress in one go, break the task down into short sections to check as you go. Task3focuses on comprehension of the details of the text.
Depending on the time you have available,youcould extend this task by asking students to discuss some other statements related to families.
For example,

Students look attopic related vocabulary from the reading text.They also practise using functional words, including many adverbs. Finally, they look at some verb and preposition collocations from the text.
