Hello, everyone! I’m glad to stand here to do the presentation. Today, I want to talk something about the new star Jeremy Lin. Before I start I will show a piece of video to let you know him.
Well, I will introduce him from four aspects. They are growing process, the journey of NBA, Lin-sanity and a conclusion of him success. Jeremy Lin was born in August 23rd, 1988 in California, USA. He is graduated from Harvard University. His occupation is American Professional NBA basketball player, and his main position is Point Guard. Here is a photo of his family. We can see his parents are shorter than him. They are major in computer. To be honestly, they never dream of training their son to be a star. They have three sons and all of them play basketball, but only Jeremy become famous.
The Journey of NBA. Jeremy’s success is not easy.He’d already been cut by two other NBA teams (Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets) before joining the Knicks this year. Maybe very few people had heard his name before February 5, 2012. Because he even often couldn’t get the opportunity to get on the court, let alone a high score. But everything become different in February 5, 2012. That day, there’s a game between Knicks and Nets. In that game, he got the opportunity to get on the court, and he catched it. Finally, he got a high score of 25 points, seven assists(助攻) and five rebounds（篮板）. That’s not the end, but just the beginning. In the next few games, he plays much better.
And he got much attention from the fans and medias. Even Obama was amazed with Lin’s performance. He said he has been on the Jeremy Lin band wagon for a while. Well. There is a list of Jeremy’s nicknames. First, absolutely, Lin-sanity, the second, Super Lintendo, the third, Mr.Lincredible. His fans call him lincredible which is means he is incredible. I think Linderella is really an interesting one. Because it come from Cinderella.
Let’s conclude Lin’s success. How did Jeremy Lin make it on his way to becoming an outstanding NBA player? 1. Self-confidence .When he is on the court, he believes that he can play it well. He thinks that he has the ability to dominate the game. 2. Persistent efforts. Even before his outburst, he persist practice three times everyday. Through the tireless efforts he can maintain the best condition. 3. Seize the opportunity When many of his teammates were injured, he got the opportunity to play more time on the court. And he seized it, he played very well. 4. Other reasons Such as, the trust from his coach and teammates, learn from the successful persons and transform brains to strengths.
So, what can we learn from Li n’s success? 1. Believe in yourself when no one else does. 2. Find the system that works for your style. 3. Seize the opportunity when it comes up. 4. When you make others around you look good, they will love you forever. 5. Stay humble
