Lashihai is the first nature reserve named by wetland of Yunnan shi means new dam in the ancient Naxi language.The dams were made by the orogeny of the Hengduan Mountains, and in those dams lies a water called Lashihai. Lashihai wetland has more than 50 species of birds, and around 30 thousands migrant birds come here for the winter every year.The best place for bird-watching is the center of the lake, so you'd better rent a boat. Hutiao Gorge is one of the deepest gorge in the world .The south of the gorge is the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain 5596 meters and the north of the gorge is the Zhongdian Snow Moutain 5396 meters.There is a 2500 meters drop between the river and the mountain ridge.The river falls 7 scarps with a drop of 170 meters in the gorge, and you can heard the sound of the river kilometers away. Zhiyun temple is one of the five major temple in Lijiang.The temple was built in 1727 by Lixiangxue a Lijiang Shuhe Buddhist.According to the legend, Lixiangxue asked an extraordinary man where to build a temple, and he pointed to a colorful cloud, so Lixiangxue built this temple under the cloud called Zhiyun temple. Cost: 10 yuan for the ticket.
