一、选题的意义及相关研究文献综述（选题背景）
The American TV series are very popular in china for a long time,and set off a TV wave again and again.From the old TV series Friends ,thousands of Chinese people are eager to watch the series,even most of them only get updated once a year.Here we can see how attractive they are.Especially the comedy series,for example，The Big Bang Theory，2 Broke Girls，MOM，Modern Family and so on.They are loved so much by Chinese.Now we have to think why those TV series receive so much warm welcome and at the same time,we have big differences on the cultures?In my opinion.,the translation plays an important role on this.
We all know that a good translated TV needs excellent translation skills.But a good comedy TV needs more than just excellent translation skills.As we all know,the 3 important points on translation: faithfulness, expressiveness, and elegance.Faithfulness means translation have to consistent with the original contents of the translation,Expressiveness means the translation of semantics have to be expressed smooth,nature and directly.Elegant is the hardest one.Faithfulness is a basic requirement, and the expressiveness is built on the faithfulness.
If the American comedy TV series translation can only reach to the expressiveness,and they only express the basic simple meaning of the American humor to Chinese audience directly.Can Chinese。
