what is crime ?
A crime is an illegal action or activity for which a person can be punished by law. Law is a system of rules enforced by governments to govern behaviour.
• criminal law • In criminal law, a guilty defendant is punished by either (1) incarceration in a jail or prison, (2) fine paid to the government, or, in exceptional cases, (3) execution of the defendant: the death penalty. • trespassing, assault and battery, invasion of privacy, libel (false and injurious writings against you), slander (false or injurious writings). • Our laws embody the basic moral values of our society. They impose limits on the conduct of individuals in order to promote the greater good and to make our communities safe places to live.

“Offenses against the Person”: These are crimes that result in physical or mental harm to another person.

“Inchoate” translates into “incomplete”, meaning crimes that were begun, but not completed.
