初中阶段主要学习的情态动词主要有can/could,may/might,must,haveto,shall/should,will/would,need,dare,ought to,etc.强调情态动词除have,be able和ought后,都不带to的不定式。
【语法讲解】情态动词can,could,may,might的用法1.can的用法(1)能够,会(体力与智力方面的能力,可与be able to 互换)。
Eg. 1.Can you draw horses? 你会画马吗?(智力方面)2.We can go skating. 我们会滑冰(体力方面)3.Can you play basketball? 你会打篮球吗?(2)可能(表客观的可能性或推测,用于否定句和疑问句)。
Eg. 1.You can’t be wrong. 你一定没错。
(可能性)2.He can’t be in the room. 他不可能在房间里。
(3)表示非正式的请求或许可,此时可与may互换,但may更正式。
Eg. 1.Can/May I borrow your book? 我可以借一下你的书吗?2.colud的用法(1)can的过去式,意为:能,会,表示过去的能力。
Eg. 1.He could write poems when he was 10. 他十岁就会写诗。
2.I could swim when I was seven years old. 我七岁时就会游泳了。
(2)当could出现在句首引导问句的时候,通常不做过去时,而表达委婉的建议和要求。
Eg. 1.Could you do me a favour? 你能帮我一个忙么?2. -Could I use your pen? 我能用一下你的钢笔么?-Yes,you can. 可以。
注:以can开头的一般疑问句,其肯定回答和否定回答分别用can和can’t。
3.may的用法(1)表许可,用于陈述句。
Eg. 1.You may go home now. 你现在可以回家了。
(2)表正式的请求或许可,用于一般疑问句。
回答may提出的问题,肯定形式为Yes,please./Yes,you may.否定形式为No,you mustn’t./No,you can’t.Eg. 1. -May I use your computer? 我能用你的电脑么?-No,you can’t. 不可以。
2. -May I go home now? 我现在可以走了吗?-No,you mustn’t. 不,不可以。
(3)或许,大概(表可能性,用于陈述句,语气没有must强烈,只有一半的可能性)。
Eg. 1.He may come tomorrw. 他明天可能会来。
