Words -Bad and Words and Picture -Bad
1. Map your mind If you don’t know where to begin your PowerPoint presentation writing, you can use this Mind Mapping technique. Basically it works like this: start with the “core” word, then think rationally a list of different keywords relating to the “core” word, and see where it leads you. A mind map can not only help you see where to begin, but also realize what is missing. 2. Pay attention to text design For most PowerPoint files, text is the most important part which carries the most information. Whether your PowerPoint presentation gets the effect you expect depends on how do your format PowerPoint text. Focus on these simple design basics to avoid the temptation to dress up your pages with cheesy effects: Use a sans serif font for body text. Sans serifs like Arial, Helvetica, or Calibri tend to be the easiest to read on screens. Use decorative fonts only for slide headers. Decorative fonts –calligraphy, German blackface, futuristic, psychotic handwriting, flowers, art nouveau, etc. – are hard to read and should be reserved only for large headlines at the top of the page. Put dark text on a light background. A bright contrast between the text and background will make your PowerPoint slides more readable. Align text left or right. Line up all your text to a right-hand or left-hand baseline – it will look better and be easier to follow. Key points only. You cannot write everything on the PowerPoint. Remember to write only keywords, key points, outline and a brief introduction on the slides – to avoid the risk losing your audience as they sort it all out.
Colour and Template - Bad

Using a font colour that does not contrast with the background colour is hard to read Using colour for decoration is distracting and annoying. Using a different colour for each point is unnecessary
How to draw up the title
• Each slide title to no more than 10 words as far as possible, cover the page • Title a line written, do not wrap the return, the audience eyes to enter, increase the cognitive load
• Bask in the applause. By following these steps, you delivered a good PowerPoint presentation that your audience enjoyed and learned from.
• 导语 • PPT快速入门 • PPT成功的关键原则

Using a different colour for secondary points is also unnecessary

Trying to be creative can also be bad
Fonts - Bad
• If you use a small font, your audience won’t be able to read what you have written
How to design the format
1.Every slide in a PPT should use a template 2.The size and location of a picture should be arranged reasonable 3.A presentation about spech and introduction not too long 4.Logical and clear, orderly 5.Highlight the key contents, you can use the different colors and font
How to write the contents
• keep in mind the PPT presentation is just to support you speach,it should be brief • let your audience think about what you said or not shown on it • Each point using the same syntax is symmetrical, easier to understand • Try not colorful background.you should contrast color and words
Slide Structure – Good
• • • • Use 1-2 slides per minute of your presentation Write in point form, not complete sentences Include 4-5 points per slide Avoid wordiness: use key words and phrases only
What should pay attention to
• Use the notes feature in PowerPoint to remind you of your key points. Also put your key points on index cards in case you are not presenting from a position where you can view your computer screen. • Rehearse your presentation. You should not only know what goes with each slide, but what is coming up. Know exactly when to change to the next slide.
• CAPITALIZE ONLY WHEN NECESSARY. IT IS DIFFICULT TO READ • Don’t use a complicated font only when it really need
Background – Bad

Avoid backgrounds that are distracting or difficult to read from Always be consistent with the background that you use
• Check the audio visual set up before your presentation. Is the equipment working properly? Do you know all of it works, especially the projector remote? • Talk to the audience, not the screen. Do not turn around to look at the slides, and never read from them. Focus on the audience and do not turn your back to them to look at the screen. • Finish on time. Respect your audience and the event organizers and keep to the schedule.
