Unless stated, Basic & Durability test is performed as following condition. - Temperature of test fuel : 20 ±5 ℃ or equivalent - Test fuel : (a) Unleaded gasoline : Commercial unleaded gasoline (0.5 % water included) (b) E20 : Unleaded gasoline including normal industrial ethanol 20 % by volume (check periodically for excessive change in alcohol concentration, or replace). (c) M15 : Unleaded gasoline including normal industrial methanol 15 % by volume (check periodically for excessive change in alcohol concentration, or replace). (d) Fuel D : Mixture of isooctane 60 parts and toluene 40 parts by volume. (e) Acidified gasoline : Unleaded gasoline including LPO 1 % by weight (replaced with fresh gasoline every 50 hr in both room and high temperature run) (f) Diesel : Commercial diesel (0.5 % water included) 6.1. Basic performance 6.1.1 Resistance characteristic Measure the resistance at the point indicated on drawing above stated in 4.1 with putting down sender float from F(FULL) to E(EMPTY) 6.1.2 Delay circuit test (Thermistor) After installing test equipment as Fig. 1, perform the test as following procedure. (For part applied delay circuit only) - Rated load : DC 14 V, 3 W Bulb for automotive - Test humidity : 65±20 %
After test 6.1.1 ~ 6.1.3, satisfy with drawing spec and insulation resistance is higher than 5 MΩ Check resonance occurs or not & no deformation, Resonance test crack and other defects Vibration durability No deformation, crack and other defects & float arm should operate smoothly. test Satisfy with following criteria in test 6.1.1 Operation durability - rate of resistance change : less than 5% of initial test value including tolerance Insulation Higher than 5 MΩ after applying 500 V to each resistance terminal Fireproof construction conforms to ES31111-01 and Fireproof there is no abnormality in assembly stability, operating Construction stability and etc after all the test required in this SPEC Etc. No open, short of wires, and other defects.

1. Purpose

This is to guarantee the good quality by SPEC. standardization. Remark: This SPEC is an extension of engineering drawings. All parts should meet the requirements of this standard along with the requirements of detailed drawings and related requirements of single components at once. 2. Application Scope 2.1 This specification shall be applied to an fuel sender measuring fuel amounts located in the vehicle fuel tank. 2.2 If the indication on the drawing is different with this SPEC., indication on the drawing is prior. 3. Terminology 3.1 Fuel sender : This is the part composed of floater and ceramic resistor and its output resistance varies in accordance with fuel amounts(fuel surface) 3.2 Temperature: If not mentioned separately, test temperature tolerance is ±2℃. 4. Mark on the drawing 4.1 Fuel sender performance characteristic : Standard resistance, fuel amounts, height of fuel surface at following indicated point with operating voltage - Indicated point : S/F G/F, 7/8, 6/8, 5/8, 1/2, 3/8, 2/8, 1/8, W’G, G/E, S/E 4.2 Delay circuit performance characteristic : Light On/Off characteristic of delay circuit (current value and gain time of light on and saturation current value of light off) 4.3 Environment : Working environmental temp., position of mounting, using fuel etc. (If not mentioned on the drawing, environmental standard is below) - Working environmental temp : -40°C ~ 90°C - Position for mounting : Inside fuel tank - Using fuel : Gasoline(E20, M15 included), Diesel(Bio-diesel included) on the market in all area (The standard test fuel can be used as the test fuel per each section)
