The Silk Road on the Sea
The Silk Road on the sea mainly starts from Guangzhou , Quanzhou, Dengzhou, Mingzhou ports ,it goes east to Korea, Japan ,south to southeast countries , and west to Europe and Africa.
Generally it was replaced by the Silk Road on the sea .
Influence
Promoted the exchanges of econ0my ,technology and culture among Asia ,Europe and Africa.
Ban Chao took a mission to the Western Region ,smoothing the Silk Road that had been blocked by external wars .

Tang Dynasty had controlled over some areas of western region and central Asia along the road .
Northern Silk Road on the land
The Northern Silk Road on the land usually refers to the routes which start from Chang an ,travelling west to Wei river ,passing through Hexi Corridor to Dunhuang and go west to Europe.
Southern Silk Road on the land
The Southern Silk Road on the land usually refers to the route which starts from Sichuan Province and goes south to India and Burma. This road has played a great role in the war between China and Japan.

The Origin
The word of the silk road is derived from a book called “China - my travel results ” ,which is published by German geographer Ferdinand von Richthofen(费迪南·冯·李希霍芬) in 1877.
The silk road refers to the ancient trade route connecting Asia Continent and European Continent.
The Composition(版图)
The silk road can be classified into three parts : Northern Silk Road on the land ,Southern Silk Road on the land , and the Silk Road on the sea .
