PartⅡ Teaching Methods and Teaching Aids
To meet different teaching goals, I will apply different teaching methods and adopt some related teaching activities in this lesson, to make the students the centre of the class and better realize my teaching goals. The teaching methods and activities are as follows: 1) TPR teaching method, including activities like guessing, etc. 2) Cooperative Learning Method, including activities like discussing and presentation. 3) Visual Teaching Method, including picture-showing and videos. 4) Communicative Method, including question-and-answering, group discussing, etc. 5) CAI(Computer-Assisted-Instruction) Using these teaching methods allows students to actively participate in, and fully mobilize the enthusiasm of their learning.
1. Status and Function
The topic of this unit is “friends” and it is also related to our daily life. There are 3 big parts in this unit. We’ll learn let’s learn in Part A mainly. And the Ss will master 2 related phrases and 2 new words after the lesson. As we all know, words and phrases are basic in English learning. It’s very important to learn this lesson well. If the Ss can learn it well, it will be helpful to make the students learn the rest of this unit.
4. Teaching Key Points and Difficult Points
Key points: The 2 phrases and 2 words. (tall and strong, short and thin, friendly, quiet) 2) Difficult points: the applying of the sentence pattern: He’s/She’s… His/Her name is…

Part I Analysis of the Teaching Material
Knowledge aims 1) The Ss can know how to read and say tall and strong , short and thin, friendly, and quiet. 2) The Ss can read and say He’s/She’s… His/Her name is… Ability aims 3) The Ss can understand and chant the part “Let’s chant” . 4) To improve the student’s listening, saying and reading skills. Emotion aims 5) To encourage the Ss to make friends with others and be friendly to the people around them.

According to the new standard curriculum and the syllabus and after studying the teaching material, I think the teaching aims are the followings:

1. Status and Function
Many topics in this book(PEP English) are related to our daily life. That is helpful for children to learn English. Grade 4 is an important stage of English learning, so it stresses on the emotion of the Ss, creates a well beginning for the Ss.
2. Analysis of the Students
My students of their age are very active and curious, interested in new things. They also have strong thirst for knowledge and like to be challenged. So, during my class, I’ll design some interesting games to activate them to participate and learn something. They will also be interested in the class.
