With every paper I’d deliver Bad news on the doorstep I couldnt take one more step I cant remember if I cried When I read about his widowed bride But something touched me deep inside
He sang as if he knew me, In all my dark despair. And then he looked right through me As if I wasn't there. And he just kept on singing, Singing clear and strong. He was strumming my pain, He's singing my life, La, La, La... Killing me softly with his song.
But I knew I was out of luck
So Bye bye Miss American Pie
The day the music died
Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry
And them good ole boys were drinking whiskey and rye
Singing thisll be the day that I die
Thisll be the day that I die
Did you write the book of love
And do you have faith in God above
If the Bible tells you so
Now do you believe in rock and roll Can music save your mortal soul And can you teach me how to dance real slow Well I know that youre in love with him cause I saw you dancing in the gym
And can you teach me how to dance real slow
<The Book of Love>以及
<The Bible Tells Me So> 都是50年代的经典曲目。
.《American Pie》
A long long time ago
I can still remember How that music used to make me smile And I knew if I had my chance That I could make those people dance And maybe they’d be happy for a while But February made me shiver

I felt I flushed with fever, Embarrassed by the crowd. I felt he found my letters And read each one out loud. I prayed that he would finish. But he just kept right on.
Well, I know that you're in love with him 'Cause I saw you dancin' in the gym You both kicked off your shoes Man, I dig those rhythm and blues
