Writing the book
In 1990, Joanne Rowling started to write Harry Potter and Sorcerer’s Stone. The book is about an 11-year old boy named Harry Potter who goes to a school called Hogwarts to learn how to become a wizard. The book became a best seller after it was published. In 1998 it was printed.

Challenges
• Joanne's mom died soon after she started to write about Harry. Then Joanne lost her job. Joanne got public assistance but could not get child care for Jessica, her daughter. To make things worse Joanne's was a struggling writer and she lived in a tiny apartment that had no heat . Later on her luck got better.
