Many East Asia countries's coestumes have been largely influenced by Han Chinese clothing,today they still share the basic style with HanFu. But the difference is that they did not suffer the repression and discontinuation,so their traditional clothing have been passed down today,and still popular with people.We often see Japanese and Korean wear their traditional clothing today in weddings,festivals or other important occasions.
One day, I hope we Han people can wear our own traditional clothes in festivals,weddings,or in any other memorable occasions.I even envy Japanese and Korean,for their traditional clothing in their life everywhere. HanFu is not just a kind of clothing,it is a symble that remains us never forget our Han Chinese tradition and ancestors.
Why do we seldom wear HanFu?
Why do we mistakenly consider Cheongsam(旗袍）is Han people's traditional clothing?
1644，Manchu army entered the Shanhaiguan Pass(清军入关）,taking the place of Ming.Then the history of HanFu was broken off.

As cheongsam(旗袍） comes from Manchu's traditional clothing, it is the costume of Manchu rather than Han people. So if you are a Han Chinese not Manchu, when observe the Han people's festivals orr attend national activities, you should wear HanFu but not cheongsam.
We can not even wear Cheongsam(旗袍），because it is the traditional clothing of Manchu(满族）. And we all know we are Han nationality.

Adult ceremony(成人礼）
In Chinese tradition, women adult ceremony called JiLi(筓礼),Ji(筓)means hairpin(簪子).At that day, women will change their hairstyle to wear hair in a bun(髻) with the hairpin.It signals she has become an adult and marriageable(适婚).Women will attend the JiLi at the age about 15 or 20,before getting married.
The men's adult ceremony called GuanLi(冠礼),Guan means a kind of ritual hat.At the ceremony,the men will be awarded ritual hats by the elder to show he has become an adult.It is held in their 20s.
HanFu,which has experienced a 360-year old discontinuation(中 断）because of the repression(镇压）from Manchu ruling class. The HanFu's main characteristic is that usually wrap the right collar to the left one(交 领右衽），no buttons, using the string bingdings,and big robe and sleeves.

Why do we always wear modern wetern style clothes when other peoples wear their traditional costumes?Don't we have clothes to wear?The western modern style is is Han people's ethnic tradition?

The Manchu ruling class(满族统治阶级） banned（禁止） HanFu and forced Han people to wear Manchu clothing.What's worse, Han people also had to shave hair to wear Manchu's hair cut. If people of Han chose to keep their hair or clothing, then they could not keep their heads.
