上期文章中我们探讨了表示同 等关系、假设和条件关系以及选 择关系的并列句，本期继续研究表示转 折和对比关系以及因果关系的并列句，从 而一一理顺并列句的种种关系。
五、表示转折和对比关 系的并列句
转折和对比关系的并列 句因为不同的引导词也分 两种。一种是由but, not… but, while, whereas, yet, and yet, but yet 等并列 连词连接。另一种是由 however, nevertheless, still（还有短语on the contrary, on the other hand）等副词连接词连接。
六、表示因果关系的并列句
句用for引导，而for本身具有表示原因的作用；另一种是在 后分句前使用副词连接词therefore或并列连接词so 连接， 表示结果。如:
经典例句： The fuel must have been finished，for the engine stopped.

并列句作为一种重要的句式结构出现在英语六级真 题的角角落落，只有掌握了它所承载的各种句子关系，才 能分清结构，更好地理解篇章，作出综合判断。同样，在 作文中我们也不要忽视了并列句的威力，理清想要表达的 句子的逻辑关系，适当增加一些并列连词，会使单调的 简单句变得更为生动。灵活运用多种并列句和复合句， 熟记一些经典并列句表达（如Motion is absolute，while stagnation is relative. 运动是绝对的，而静止是相对的）， 会增强我们写作的表意功能，提升作文档次，何乐而不为 呢？从现在开始，请关注这一被遗忘的角落吧！
