• Russia,also officially known as the Russian Federation is a sovereign country in Eurasia.Russia is the largest country in the world by area, covering more than one-eighth of the Earth's inhabited land area. • Russia's capital Moscow is one of the largest cities in the world; other major urban centers include Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg and Nizhny Novgorod. • Extending across the entirety of Northern Asia and much of Eastern Europe, Russia spans eleven time zones and incorporates a wide range of environments and landforms.

• Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840 – 1893)was a Russian composer of the romantic period, some of whose works are among the most popular music in the classical repertoire. • Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov(22 April 1870 – 21 January 1924) was a Russian lawyer, revolutionary, and the leader of the Bolshevik party (布尔什维克党)and of the October Revolution(十月革命). • Lenin's ideas became known as Leninism. • After the war, Lenin brought in the New Economic Policy to try and make things better for the country and move from capitalism towards socialism.
