Both of two new species belong to P. melanosoma group. Key to known species of P. melanosoma group is provided.Pachyprotasis mai Wei et Zhong, sp. nov.(Figs 1 – 6)Body length 10 mm in female. This new species is similar to P. melanosoma Wei et Zhong, 2002, but differs from the latter in: inner orbit totally with narrow white stripe, posterior part of metepimeron white; inner margins of eyes slightly convergent downwards; malar space 1.5 times as long as diameter of median ocellus; lateral carina of mesoscutellum blunt; middle petiole of anal cell of fore wing shorter than 1/2 length of basal anal cell; in latter species, only lower half of inner orbit with narrow white stripe, metepimeron totally black, without white; inner margins of eyes distinctly convergent downwards; malar space narrower than diameter of median ocellus; lateral carina of mesoscutellum acute; middle petiole of anal cell of fore wing much longer than 1/2 length of basal anal cell.Holotype ♀, Qinghai, Huzhu, Mt.
