John is the illicit [ɪˈlɪsɪt] son of the Director of the Incubation [ˌɪnkjəˈbeʃən}Center and Linda.He was born and reared on the the Savage Reservation.One day , he gets a book written by Shakespeare, this book gives him a powerful spiritual force . Linda is a β, and she misses the life of the civilized world and often tells John the world outside . John wants to go to the outside world to see. Bernard ,a sleep-learning specialist goes to the reservation to do a Scientific investigation with his female companion Linena, and they find John, John and Linda go to the outside world with them. The enormous discovery of the barbarians[bɑ:rˈberiən]n.(野蛮人) brought Bernard reputation, but John find the civilized world not as good as he thought.
The ensuing [ɪn‘sju:ɪŋ] （接着发生，因而产生 ）riot [ˈraɪət] （骚乱，暴动）brings the police，Bernard and Helmholtz arrive to help John, but only Helmholtz helps him. John and Helmholtz are brought to Mustapha,John questioned him why rule the people with this inhumane [ˌɪnhjuˈmen]adj.(不仁慈的，无人道的，冷酷无 情的)way, He says only in this way can guarantee the happiness of every person. What they want, there is; if it's not, they would not delusional [dɪ'lu:ʒnəl] （妄 想的）. They are rich, the situation is stable; they never get sick, they don’t fear of death; they are full of joy, forget the passion and old; they do not have to worry about their parents; they have no wife, no love, no emotional baggage; they accept strict conditions and act concordantly [kən'kɔ:dənt] （和谐的，一致的） with the rules. What if they made a mistake, also accompanied by soma."
