III. LEAD IN
Once an acceptance is confirmed, it means a deal. In international trade, usually a contract will be made to further specify the rights and obligations of both parties for legal purposes. If any conflict between the parties concerned happens latter, reference is generally made to the contract in an effort to resolve the misunderstanding. So it is vital that the contract is negotiated with great care so that both buyer and seller are able to live within its terms and conditions. After signing the contract, the parties concerned are legally bound to honor their agreement.
There is no specific requirement about the form of contract in international trade. There are some often used forms as follows:
1) Formal contract. (Sales Contract, Purchase Contract)
2) Confirmation (Sales Confirmation, Purchase Confirmation)
3) Agreement
Of above all, the first two are more commonly used in international trade in our
country. Once a transaction is concluded, buyers and sellers may sign a contract, (confirmation, agreement) face to face. But in most cases, it is hard for them to sign face to face, while one party can make the contract (confirmation, agreement) and sign two copies, then send them to the other party for counter-signature and return of only one copy for file.
