英文中金额的大写，由三个部分组成：“SAY + 货币”+ 大写数字（amount in words）+ ONLY(相当于我们的“整”)。和汉语不同的是，数字中有零不用写出来，而是把数字读法写出来即可。

如果金额有小数，常见的有三种表达方法：

英文金额表达式中，小数点前每三位必须有一个逗号，靠近小数点的第一个逗号是Thousand （千), 以此类推，第二个逗号是Million （百万），第三个逗号是Billion（十亿）；而且英文中小数点后面的数字都是按单个数字来读，不连在一起读。

为避免金额数量的差漏、伪造或涂改，英文合同对于金额有十分严格的规范。一是在小写(阿拉伯数字)的后面用括号内的大写(文字数字)重写, 即使原文合同中没有大写，英译时也有必
要加上大写；二是货币单位准确无误；三是大写要求顶格，前加动词SAY（即为），单词之间疏密均匀，在大写文字前加上“SAY”，意为“大写”；在最后加上“ONLY”。意思为“整”。必须注意：小写与大写的金额数量要一致。
例：甲方方须每月付给乙方美元500 元整。

一般是中文的大写在前面，后面用括号加小写阿拉伯数字；但翻译成英文时正好相反：小写在前面，后面是大写。
例：人民币叁仟元整（3,000元整）的英文表达为RMB3,000 (RMB THREE THOUSAND ONLY IN WORD)
这里，中文的“整”可以用only in word 或者仅用only 表达。RMB可以用人民币符号￥代替。英文US Dollar 可以用US $代替，也可以简单用USD表达，但要注意符号“$”既可代表“美元”，又可代表其他某些地区的货币，如港币HK$；大写前面的SAY（即）往往被省略。美元U.S DOLLAR用单复数均可。
例：美元叁仟元整（美元3,000元整）的英文表达为US Dollar 3,000 (SAY USD THREE THOUSAND ONLY IN WORD)

当金额用数字书写时，金额数字必须紧靠货币符号，例如：Can $891,568，不能写成：Can $ 891,568。另外，翻译的还要特别注意金额中是小数点（.）还是分节号（,），因为这两个符号极易引起笔误。
