Take ownership of your sales opportunity Use the tools you are given to craft your message
– Merchandising gives you fantastic input at the GTM meeting but this is NOT (!!!) your CSI presentation. It is one input – Use positive Sell Through data (don’t advertise poor ST) – Use Regional data where it helps – Use account-specific data where it helps – Use anecdotes, stories or learnings that you have picked up along the way
• Pay attention to your audience’s reaction • Be ready for anything • No matter what, do your best make sure you get your objectives accomplished

Pictures are good. People like pictures. People remember pictures. We have a lot of pictures.
Details matter. Like it or not, people notice little things. The more you use .ppt, the more you will too.

Philosophy 101
PowerPoint is overrated. It’s actually quite difficult to communicate effectively using slides. But PowerPoint can be a force for good if used the right way. Know your format. There are two types of decks: Those you present and those you distribute. They are constructed differently. Simple is necessary (at Nike) Some companies emphasize analysis of data to draw business conclusions. Nike’s emphasis on intuition makes us different. Simple, meaningful slides that create gut-level buy in are the .ppt holy grail. Less is more. Remember much from the last 60 page slide show you saw? People remember very few things from a slide presentation. What do you want them to take away? Focus on that and that only.
