本教程是一部新型的、融合传统语法与现代语言学和语法学某些研究成果于一体的英语语法教材。
编写内容深入浅出，反映了各个学科体系最新研究成果；编写思想上，除了帮助学生打下扎实的语言基本功外，还照例培养学生分析问题、解决问题的能力，使学生对英语语法有一个比较系统的了解并能借助英语语法知识解决英语学习过程中的有关问题。
