一.说教材
1.教材的地位与作用:本单元是在学习了形容词比较级的基础上进一步学习最高级.通过复习和学习一些地理知识,练习最高级,让学生在完成任务的过程中,运用所学知识进行英语交流,培养运用英语解决实际问题的能力.
语法:形容词最高级及构成(规则和不规则good ,better ,best, bad , worse , worst)
(2). 过程与方法.:让学生在对比中运用比较级过度到最高级,培养学生学习英语的兴趣和应用英语实际交流的能力,进而提高学生听、说、读、写等能力。
(3) 情感态度价值观:通过比较,了解中国以及世界地理知识,培养爱国主义情操,以及通过了解珠穆朗玛峰及人类克服困难,挑战极限的精神
2.教学重、难点:重点是掌握本课重点词汇,重点句型和最高级的用法即知识目标的内容,难点是形容词比较级和最高级构成法及正确运用.
二.学情分析
本课的教学操练点,谈论的话题是地理知识,学生都有了解,再加上现在的中学生思维能力较强,但注意力容易分散。
对英语普遍感兴趣,但有很大的不稳定性. 因此,本课采取独立呈现,综合操练的方式,让学生逐渐理解消化.在本课教学过程中,在注重启发引导的同时,更要注重教学方法的灵活性,激发学生学习的兴趣,让学生乐于接受,易于接受。
三.说教法
1.Teach English in English : 即新课标倡导的“用英语教英语”,尽量用英语教学,创造英语课堂良好的听的环境,让学生充分感知,积极体验,大胆实践,把握用英语交际的机会,鼓励学生大胆开口说英语。
2. Task-based teaching method突出重点,突破难点:倡导体验参与,培养自主学习能力,让学生带着任务有目的地上课,并在课堂学习中不断获得完成此任务所必须的知识、能力、技能等.
设计猜谜游戏练习最高级,既达到以旧带新的目的,又有效地激发了学生的学习兴趣,活跃了课堂气氛。
4.借助多媒体辅助教学,形象、生动,使课堂容量相对增加,给学生提供更多的语言实践机会,有利于语言综合运用能力的提高。

T: Yes, that’s right. Mount… is the highest mountain in our country. It is also the highest in the world. Today we will learn something about mountains and rivers. Open the book. Turn to page 49. Try to match the facts you know in 1a. Step 2 Presentation.
1.Listen to the tape and complete the sentences in 1b. The teacher introduces
the information about the mountains and rivers and lakes that mentions in this part.
2.Listen to the tape and complete 2a. Teach students to read large numbers.
3.Teach the conversation in 2d. Let students to translate the conversation and
then role-play the conversation.
4.Teach the text in 3a and the language points in the article.
5.Let students to translate the article and complete the questions after the text.
6.Make a summary of the whole text.
7.Give students several minutes to ask questions.
Step 3 Practice
1.Based on the information from 1a to 1b. Let students to work in pairs to
make a conversation to talk about mountain and river.
2.Work in groups and retell the article in 3a.
3.Finish the test on the new words and phrases.
