隈研吾是日本著名建筑设计师，他在日本本地和国际上都获得过很多大奖，也举办过很多的个人作品展览。曾著书《负建筑》《十 宅论》《反目标》，他不仅仅是著名的建筑设计师，也是日本当代建筑理论的杰出讲演者和作家。
Kuma is a famous Japanese architect, he has won a lots of awards both in Japan and around the world, also held many solo exhibitions. He also write books "negative architecture" "Ten home of" "anti-target", he is not just a famous architect, but also a prominent speaker and writer in Japanese contemporary architectural theory.

北区像是一个四合院，是一个包容创意和设计的高端街区。
North district is like a courtyard and is a high-level neighborhood include creativity and design.
所有店面都采用了透明玻璃橱窗来突出其中的商品，其中大多数商铺内部都采用明亮的灯光和醒目的招牌。每个商铺根据其所出 售物品类型的不同来设计内部装修，它们或动感或时尚或艳丽等等。
All stores are using transparent glass windows to highlight one of the commodities, most of the shops use bright lights and eye-catching signs inside. Each shop design their interior environment according to different types of items they sell.They are fashion or gorgeous and so on.
The first impression of sanlitun village: very experimental geometric beauty. By irregular geometric shape and daring use of color, giving each building a unique look and personality. Unique timber has become a major feature of the sanlitun VILLAGE. Extensive use of glass and plastic pipe, create a tentative appearance. In addition, the use of natural materials, is a typical material of kuma’s building. Wood, stone and bamboo are the main building material here or of decorative material.

南区以青春动感时尚为主，拥有11栋建筑。平面布局为分散式， 每栋建筑都有自己的个性，自成一派，但在颜色上有有机的结合 在一起，并围绕着中心广场。
设计理念： “我更喜欢老北京的风情，胡同、街道、小巷， 这些因素串成了我印象中的北京，而不是如今 的高楼林立。因此，我想在三里屯VILLAGE这 样的中心城区里，保留一些老北京的原汁原味， 而不是建成千篇一律的大商场。我为整个项目 定下了一个整体基调——"让经典脱胎，重生 于当代”。
Design concept: "I prefer the old Beijing style, alley, street, These factors strung up my impression of Beijing, rather than the skyscrapers now. So, I think that in Sanlitun VILLAGE which is the center of the city, we should keep the retention of some authentic old Beijing,rather than build a large shopping mall monotony. I set the tone for whole project"Let the classic rebirth in contemporary. "
