是将中药汤剂进一步精制、浓缩、灌封、灭菌而得到的。
口服液具有服用剂量少、吸收较快、质量稳定、携带及服用方便、易保存等优点，尤其适合工业化生产。
有些品种可适于中医急症用药，如四逆汤口服液、银黄口服液，故近几年来多将片剂、颗粒剂、丸剂、汤剂、中药合剂、注射剂等改制成口服液，使之成为药物制剂中发展较快的机型之一。
但口服液的生产设备和工艺条件要求都较高，成本较昂贵。
应从主药含量、细菌检查、装量差异、澄明度及药液ph等方面进行控制。
