因 此，在 图 书馆一 楼 的 外 面 设 计 修 建了一 条 广 阔 的 长 廊，作 为 学 生们 可 以自由 通 行 和 散 步 的 场 所。（一 楼 的 设 计）采 用了 和 建 筑 前 的 斜坡 相 协调 的 室内 倾 斜 装 饰，给人一 种 建 筑 和 前 面 花 园 的 风 景 相 连 续 的 感 觉。这 块 空 间 可 以作 为 演 讲 场 所 使 用，也可 以让 同 学 们 在 休 息 时 在 此 享受 咖 啡。二楼 里 面 充 满 了混 凝 土 制 的 拱 形。这 些 拱 形 都 是 比 较 缓 和 的 弧 度，并 相 互 交 汇 在 一 起。为了使 这 些 拱 形 的 混 凝 土 厚 度 可 以 薄 一 些，采 用了在中 间 部 位 夹 上钢 筋 然 后 在 两 侧 使 用 混 凝 土 的 特 殊 构 造。采 用 这 样 的 结 构，虽 然 拱 形底 部 非 常 纤 细，但 是 却 能 让 这 些 拱 形 牢 固 地 和 地 面 相 接（并承 受 建 筑 的 重 量）。拱 形 的 跨 度从 1.8 米到 16 米不等，但是厚度全都是 200 毫米。这些交汇的拱形把空间自然柔和地分为各个不同而又保持连续的区域。在这里面分布有连绵的 书架和供阅览的书桌。 Our first idea was to create a wide open gallery space on the ground level separate from the library that would serve as an active thoroughfare for people crossing the campus on the way to other buildings. This gallery has the same grade as the site and creates the sensation that the sloping terrain and the front garden’s scenery continue within the building. The space can be used for lectures, performances and as a café for students to get together and relax. Series of continuous concrete arches shroud both floors, crisscrossing each other as they trace gentle curved lines. To minimize the concrete thickness of these arches, we adopted a special structural system in which center steel plates are sandwiched on both sides by a layer of concrete. This construction system allowed the cross joint columns to connect to ground in an extremely slim shape; the spans of the arches vary from 1.8 to 16 meters, but the thickness is kept to a uniform 200mm. 多摩 美术 大 学 图 书馆 是 一所 位于东 京 郊 外 的 美术 大 学 的 图 书馆。建 筑 的 正 门 前 有一 个 种 满 了植 物 的 庭 院 和 一 个小 斜坡。在 建 设 图 书馆 之 时，需 要 保证 有足够 的 可 以保 存 全校 图 书 的 空 间 这一 要求自然 不用 说，而 设 计更 加 强 烈 的 要求 新 图 书馆 可 以有 加 强 全校 师 生在 公 共 空 间 交 流 的 功 能。 This is a library for an art university located in the suburbs of Tokyo. Facing the main entrance gate, the site lies behind a front garden with trees and stretches up a gentle slope. In addition to enriching the library space for the entire campus, from the early stages of planning it was strongly requested that we create a space capable of enhancing communication between students and professors.
