He was a frightful giant who compelled all strangers to wrestle with him and defeated or killed them all. He was invincible for as long as he remained in contact with his mother (the Earth) for she supplied him with strength. Heracles discovered his secret and lifted Antaeus from the ground and strangled him.

Caeneus（卡尼俄斯） started his life as a beautiful maiden. Accounts of what happened vary. But apparently at one point she was raped by the god Poseidon. Afterwards Poseidon promised to grant Caenis anything she wanted, whereupon she asked to be transformed into male warrior who was invulnerable to all weapons. As a man Caenis (now Caeneus) was a very successful warrior until he was jumped by a band of centaurs who crushed him to death with stones. Upon his death Caeneus reverted to his original female form.

The Competition between Poseidon and Athena for the city of Athens

To win the people of the city over, Poseidon threw a spear at the ground and produced a horse ( OR: the Spring at the Acropolis). However, Athena won as the result of giving the people of Athens the olive tree.
Eventually, Athena and Poseidon worked together by combining their powers. Though Poseidon was the god of horses, Athena built the first chariot. Athena also built the first ship to sail on the sea over which Poseidon ruled.
