The highest theoretical transmission speed of 5G will be up to 10Gb per second, which will be hundreds of times faster than the existing 4G network transmission speed , which means that a super high quality film in the future can be completely downloaded within 1 second.

On May 13, 2014, Samsung Electronics announced that they have taken the first mobile transmission network basing on 5G .In October 2014, the peak speed of mobile transmission network reached 7.5Gbps in stationary state .
On February,2015, a British researcher said, the mobile transmission speed of 5G network has reached 1Tbps in stationary state , which is 65000 times faster than the current 4G network transmission speed. The UK expects to use the 5G network service in 2020.

ON September 9, 2015，Verizon, the largest wireless company in America, announced Verizon would be the next year to try the 5G network, and would officially build the commercial 5G network in 2017.
