His parents and sister were in the living room, watching TV. They wanted to wait for midnight to see the old year out and the new year in.
But Li Hua wasn't there. Where was he? He was in his bedroom, sleeping on his bed. Why? Because he ate too much at the New Years Eve dinner and had a stomachache.
