人教版七年级英语(上)第四单元Section_B_1 -
用来表示并列关系,意为“……和……” and “……以及……” 用来连接并列的词与
词、短语与短语、分句与分句。当and 连接两个名词作句子主语时,当复数 看待。
but 表示转折关系,意为 “但是,然而” 在 句中连接前后两个意思相反或相对的 句子。
e.g. My radio and tape player are on the desk. 我的收音机录音机在桌子上。 Jenny’s room is tidy, but Tom’s room is not. 詹妮的房间很整洁,但是汤姆的却不。
Gina’s books are everywhere – on her bed, on the sofa and under the chair. The white model plane is hers. It’s under the desk. “Where are my keys? Where’s my ruler? Where’s my schoolbag?” Gina always asks.

tidy, but Gina is not. and和but都是连词,把两个独立的短 句并列连接为一个较长的句子。英语 中把这种由and 或but 并列连接而成的 句子称为“并列句”。但它们的用法 却不同。见下表:
