Protected Circuit
The TBU device limits I/O current. The OVP (GDT, TSP, or MOV) protects the TBU from high voltage. The OVP (MOV) also provides the minimum ESD protection for the TBU device. Applications where the protected signal line also delivers power (AC or DC) will require more sophisticated engineering.
