升调（the rising tune）降升调（the falling-rising tune）降调一般表示肯定、坚决、果断、完结。

升调一般表示不肯定、未完结，常有委婉、含蓄、讲礼貌、虚心征求意见的意味。

降升调一般表示保留、对比、含蓄，常隐含“言外之意”。
