Reporter: Hello, Mr. Jobs. Can I have an interview with you about your speech?
Jobs: Sure. Reporter: Can you tell your story to us again?
Jobs: Just as what I said, my biological mother was a young, unwed college graduate and she decided to put me up for adoption. However, neither of my parents who adopted me went to college. My biological mother agreed at last after they promised that someday I would go to college.
Reporter: Your parents did do what they had promised. They sent you to college.
Jobs: Yes, I went to Reed College 17 years later. Reporter: But you didn't graduate from college. Can you tell us why you dropped out?
Jobs: OK. I dropped out six months after I started my studies in Reed College. On the one hand, the tuition was so expensive that all my parents' savings were being spent on my tuition. On the other hand, I could not see the value of attending college. So I dropped out. Reporter: What do you think of your decision of dropping out?
Jobs: Just as I mentioned in my speech, that was probably one of the best decisions I ever made. Since I had dropped out of Reed College, I took a calligraphy class and learned about serif and sanserif typefaces which were designed into the Mac 10 years later. Otherwise, personal computers might not have the wonderful typography that they do.
Reporter: We learn a lot from your story. Thanks for granting my interview.
Mark: Dad, look! I found an ancient document. Do you know what it is about?
John: Oh, that ancient Egyptian document. It uncovers a mysterious formula for acquiring wealth. Mark: Really? How do you know that?
John: Maybe you won't believe it, but I do have a hidden talent for languages. Mark: Indeed, what does this document talk about?
John: It tells of a statue, thousands of years old, in the central part of Egypt, hidden in a cave miles from a large pyramid. Mark: Will people acquire wealth if they find that statue?
John: No, you should prepare some special things first. The text states that the statue had 8 orifices and that the seeker of wealth must place precious gems in each of the holes in the statue. Mark: That must cost a lot!
John: Um, nearly 1.2 million dollars. But that is a really great investment. Ina: You seem to prefer solitude, don't you, Aunt Stephina?
Phina: Yes, I prefer living in my tiny cottage and solitude to the comfortable but rather noisy householdalong with the family. Ina: Do you still remember last time when I took George to see you and told you of our engagement?
Phina: Of course. I am delighted. Especially when I heard that he intended to settle in South Africarather than return to England, I was relieved.
Ina: But George is thinking of paying a lightning visit to England before we are married.
Phina: Really? Ina, you must prevent him. You must not let him leave you before you get married. Ina: Could you tell me why, Aunt Phina?
Phina: Perhaps you think I'm old and have the silly fancies of the old, but I should like to tell you my ownlove story, and then you can decide whether it is wise for your man to leave you before you are married. Ina: It must have been a romantic love story!
Phina: I met an Englishman, Richard Weston, when I was quite a young girl. We loved one another fromthe first moment we met. He asked me to marry him on the evening of my 18th birthday, but my fatherhated the Uitlanders. Ina: What happened then?
