AAfter so many years’ changes, I consider happiness to be a habit. My happiness moves many people around me. When people ask me why I am so happy, I only tell them that happiness is just a kind of habit.I used to hate those so-called kind advice given to me by people. I obviously know that few people can follow the advice. I seriously hurt myself in the end because I care about everything. I don’t want to hear friends’ sweet words. I am not used to friends’dishonesty. Suddenly I don’t like the world very much, feeling frustrated and disappointed. Since I can’t change the world, I have to adapt to the society. Whether I am happy or not, I have to live through 24 hours a day happily. Of course, no one is able to smile happily when they are faced with sadness. However, you can adjust your state of mind within the shortest time.It should be known that sadness is not the best solution to troubles. So I keep the motto in mind: “Please lead a happy life.” The motto reminds me to spend each day happily at every moment because I like all of people, hope to lead a better life. Although I am not satisfied with my material life. I have learned to make up the spiritual emptiness. We can’t learn all of knowledge in our life. Each of us has his own different backgrounds and levels of education. When you look down upon others, others will also look down upon you. Therefore, you should learn to g et on happily with each of the people around you. You should learn to discover your friends’ strengths and learn from them. Friend’s weaknesses form the basis for your future advancement. If you have such weaknesses, you should improve them in time. This is what we are always expecting.Happiness is not just a kind of feeling in mind. Your happiness can help people feel smile on your face, which tells them that you are happy. Although no one knows for sure, chopsticks are thought to be more than 5,000 years old. Appearing first in China, chopsticks began to spread to Korea,Japan and later Vietnam by 500 A.D.Chopsticks are typically made from bamboo due to the fact that bamboo is easy to split, rather inexpensive to produce, and resistant to heat. However, many other materials havebeen used to construct chopsticks including pine, bone and sandalwood. Other types of chopsticks have been made from gold, silver and bronze. Ancient bronze chopsticks have been discovered in China, dating back to the Shang Dynasty. Generally, Chinese chopsticks tend to be roughly 25 centimeters long and Japanese ones measure about 18-20 centimeters.Within the Asian culture, chopstick usage contains a superstitious (迷信的)element. In China, it’s popular among lovers and newly-married couples to give each other chopsticks as a gift. The two sticks need to be the same length and used together, showing the couple’s cooperation and love. Uneven (参差不齐的)chopsticks are a sign of a bad travel experience to come. Those who sit at a table with uneven chopsticks are certain to miss the next boat, plane or train they were supposed to catch. Those who drop their chopsticks to the floor will have bad luck in the near future. The way you handle your chopsticks can say a lot about you, depending on what country you’re in. Chopsticks should be held at the middle in China. Holding them at top signals feeling superior and holding them at bottom is “the way of beggars”. In many Asian cultures, it’s co nsidered rude to allow your chopsticks to stand straight in a bowl of rice. Chopsticks should not be used to root around in the bottom of your bowl for food.28. I got in a taxi, and we took off for Grand Central Station. We were driving in the right lane when all of a sudden, a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver used his brakes, the tires made a loud noise, and at the very last moment our car stopped just 3cm from the back of the other car.I couldn’t believe it. But then I couldn’t believe what happ ened next. The driver of the other car, the guy who almost caused a big accident, turned his head around and he started shouting at us. I couldn’t believe it!My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. So, I said, “Why did you just do that? This guy could have killed us!” And this is when my taxi driver told me what I now call, “The Law of the Garbage Truck”. He said, “Many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of anger and disappointment. As their garb age piles up, they look for a place to dump it. And if you let them, they’ll dump it on you.”So I started thinking how often I let Garbage Trucks run right over me and how often I take their garbage and spread it to other people.I began to see Garbage Trucks. I see the load people are carrying. I see them coming to dump it. And like my taxi driver, I don’t take it personally. I just smile, wave, wishthem well, and move on.32.
