Cerebellum
Function Coordination of voluntary motor movement, balance and equilibrium and muscle tone
Cerebella injury results in movements that are slow and uncoordinated. Individuals with cerebella lesions tend to sway and stagger when walking.
personality(Motor function, problem
solving, spontaneity, memory, language,
initiation, judgement, impulse control,
social and sexual behavior)
Asymmetrical differences in Frontal lobes Left: Controlling language related movement Right: non-verbal abilities.
Parietal Lobes
Sensation and Perception
Integrating sensory input(Visual system)
左顶叶损伤:Gerstmann Syndrome Left-Right confusion Agraphia (Difficulty with writing) Acalcuia (Difficulty with writing) Aphasia (Disorders of language) Agnosia (Inability to perceive Object)
右顶叶损伤:Gerstmann Syndrome Contralateral neglect part of body(Dressing and Washing) Contructional apraxia Anosaghosia (Denial of deficits)
Parietal Lobes 双侧顶叶损伤Bi-Lateral damage:Balint’s
fMRI Mission
To establish a collaborative and multiinvestigator neuroimaging research environment focused on medical applications and the study of brain, behavior, and therapyinduced cortical changes.
Frontal Lobes
Disturbance of Motor function
Loss of fine movements
Strength of the arms, hands and fingers
Spontaneous facial expression
Broca’s Aphasia
Diffቤተ መጻሕፍቲ ባይዱculty in speaking
Left parietal-temporal lesions can effect verbal memory and the
ability to recall strings of digits
The right parietal-temporal lobe is concered with non-verbal
memory. Right pareital-temporal lessions can produce
significant changes in personality.
Frontal Lobes
Function:
Emotional control center and home to our
Occipital Lobes
Function Center of visual perception system Visuospatial Processing Discrimination of movement Discrimination of Color
• Damage of one side of the Occipital Lobe:
hallucinations
Temporal Lobes •Disturbance of auditory sensation
and perception •Disturbance of selective attention of auditory and visual input •Disorders of visual perception •Impaired organization and categorization of verbal material •Disturbance of language comprehension •Impaired long-term memory •Alter personality and affective behavior •Alter sexual behavior
cause homonymous loss of vision in both eyes
• Disorders of the the Occipital Lobe: cause visual hallucinations
and illusions
• Occipital region or temporal lobe seizures will cause visual
Syndrome Visual attention and motor syndrome Ocular apraxia:inability to control the gaze Simultanagnosia:inability to integerate components of a visual scene Optic ataxia:inability to accurately reach for an object
