金融学与金融经济学不完全是一码事。如同 经济学是研究价格机制与资源配置效率一样， 金融经济学偏重从参与者的效用最大化出发， 研究金融市场的价格形成与金融资产的配置 效率，而且还增加了对金融市场信息有效性 的考察。它最终关注资产配置的整体福利， 遵循“集体理性”，是金融学研究的基础理 论。让人们很自然地从自己熟悉的经济学理 论过渡到用经济学方法对金融市场的考察。 而金融学的其他理论可以只考虑“个体理性” 的决策问题，如：证券投资、公司理财。
