The Origin Of Qi Pao
The original Qi Pao actually comes from the Manchu Nationality(满 族).The rulers of the last dynasty—Qing Dynasty were Manchus , so nobility often wore Manchu style dressing, also called”袍”。 When the Manchu Nationality took over the power, they organized the people into”旗”.Thus , the Qi Pao became the“banner gown(旗袍)” that was worn by both men and women.

The styles

The general characteristics of the early Qi Pao were a single piece of cloth that would cover the whole body,down to the feet.Around the neck, the collar(衣领)，would be high to help secure （安全的） outfit（装 备）.The materials was loose（松的）, with slits on the side(裂缝) only allow for easier movement.
