The Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) was founded on Nov. 26th,1990 and in operation on Dec.19th the same year. It is a membership institution directly governed by the China Securities Regulatory Commission(CSRC).（中国证 监会）

In 1981, trading in treasury bonds was resumed.
In 1984, stocks and enterprise bonds emerged in Shanghai and a
few other cities. On November 26, 1990, Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) came into existence, and on December 19 of
General Assembly: The supreme authority of the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

In 1891, the Shanghai Sharebrokers Association（上海股票经济协会） was established, which was regarded as the primitive form of stock
