The first hospital wraps a small 'lake' and an island created by the slight widening of the Liudu Gang Canal and sets the environmental architectural standard for the development. A grand and reassuring allée of trees lines the entrance drive. This boulevarded street is an axis connecting to the second international hospital and symbolically links lake to
lake - hospital to hospital ("Water is Life").
Upon arrival at the first international hospital a strong but gentle land berm rises to an open space. Between it and the entrance lobby a view into a sheltered central space is offered and careful to catch the energy flow through this space; a canopied island with seasonal vegetation, pavilion and bridges creating a spa-like haven.

The International Hospital Zone
The establishment of two world renowned general hospitals and a number of specialty hospitals establishes the medical centerpiece of the development. The logistics facility will be part of the hospital podium and will contain central
materials handling, laundry, receiving, storage, bulk food preparation, and other central support functions linked to the main buildings. The logistics center will also contain an area for the collection and disposal of medical waste for the entire zone. This will be developed and managed in accordance with a specific plan for waste management.
