Equipment Number Calculation
The equipment number of the ship complies with the requirement in Ch 10,Sec 4 of BUREAU VERITAS.
1.According to [
2.1.2],we can see the formula as follows:
EN=△2/3+2hB+0.1A= 219.49
Where:
Moulded displacement:△ =728.10
Freeboard: a = 1.20m
Draft: d = 3.50m
Breadth: B=10.00m
h=a+∑h n=1.20+2.45+2.7= 6.35m
A=83.76+15.47+16.35= 115.58m2
2.Obtained from Tab 1, we learn that the number of anchors is three, and the mass
of each anchor is 660 kg.
3.According to [3.1.3], Where HHPanchors are used as bower anchors,the mass of
each anchor is to be not less than 75% or 50%,respectively,of that required for ordinary stockless bower anchors in Tab 1.So:
660×0.75 = 495kg ,
the mass of each bower anchor is equal to 495 kg.
4.Total mass of anchors to comply with total mass from table 1,as oer [3.2.2]. Total
mass to be 1485KG++
5.Obtained from Tab 1, we also learn that the diameters of the chain cables are 26
mm for Q1 chain or 22 mm for Q2 chain in the ship. The total length of the chain cables is 302.5m.
6.According to Tab 3, the breaking load of each towline is 129KN, and there is one
steel wire whose length is 180m. Meanwhile, the breaking load of each mooring line is 64KN, and there are four steel wires whose individual length is 120m.。
