◆In 1959 October,history expert Wu Han published a paper named 《on tabacco》in Guang Ming Daliy. He considered tobacco has successively divided into china from three different routes beginning in the Ming Dynasty (AD 1616 ~ 627 years). ◆ First, the earliest one, from Philippines to Fu jian, then South to Guang dong, east to Jiangsu and Zhejiang. ◆Second, the Nan yang afferent Guang dong; ◆Third, from Japan to Korea, then spread to Liaodong. ◆ Cigarette afferent Chinese at the end of nineteenth Century, Anglo-American Tobacco Corp set up factories and started introduction of flue cured tobacco. Henan, Shandong, Anhui became the earliest tobacco growing areas.

In 1913, Americans mixed together the fluecured tobacco, aromatic tobacco and sun-cured tobacco and invented the new type “blend cigarette”, leading the new trends.
Cigarette is the main tobacco product, accounting for 80% of the world tobacco products currently. In 2013, the world legal cigarette sales volume (China excluded) is 67,600,000 cases, a decrease of 3.0% over the last year. Relevant agencies estimated that the world illegal cigarette sales volume is about 7,800,000 cases, accounting for 10.3% of the total market sales.
Brothers Jian zhaonan and Jian yujie founded the Nanyang tobacco companies and produced the first cigarette.

Currently about 120 nations and areas planted tobacco in the world. In 2013, the world tobacco output (China excluded) kept growing, among which the flue-cured tobacco output is 2,039,000 tons, an increase of 3.5% over the previous year; burley tobacco output is 648,000 tons, increasing by 22.3%; aromatic tobacco output is 248,000 tons, increasing by 12.7%; sun-cured tobacco output is 119,000 tons, decreasing by 0.8%.
