Objective 1. Knowledge objectives:

procedure 【1】Warming up
1. At the very beginning, play a guessing game. What
day is the third Sunday of June?
2. Then ask students two questions and have a
brainstorming. How many kinds of love should we keep in
mind? What is the father in your eyes?
【2】Pre-reading
Listen to a passage about a man’s memory of his
father and think about two questions.
Why did people stare at the son and his father when
they walked together on the street?
What is the difference between how the son felt about
his father when he was younger and how he feels now?
【3】While reading
1. Skimming
Read the passage quickly and divide it into several
parts.
Para. 1-5 The son was embarrassed when people cast
eyes on him walking with his crippled father, but the
father was subjected to the humiliation and pressure
silently without any complaint.
Para. 6-7 The son now realizes that his father
treated others and life with a kind heart.
Para 8-11 The father enjoyed life by participating
in activities together with his son.
Para. 12-13 The father has gone for many years and
the son always feels sorry for not letting his father
know his regret and admiration.

balance of two or more similar words, phrases or clauses.
