The current flow through the PDU is controlled by six insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs). Three of these transistors control the voltage side of the circuit and are called positive or high-side IGBTs. The other three transistors are negative or low-side IGBTs because they are on the negative (ground) side of the stator coils.
