外语学院硕士研究生课程教学大纲英语语言文学研究方法Research Methods in English Language and Literature总学时:32 实验/实习学时:0 学分:2一、课程简介1. 课程性质:本课程是外国语言学及应用语言学和英语语言文学学科硕士研究生的学位必修课。

2. 课程目的:学完该课程以后学生能够理解和解释语言研究方法和统计方法的基本概念,对语言学相关领域中的具体教学问题进行试验设计,会收集、处理和分析数据(如用计算机统计软件SPSS),能够说明和讨论研究的结果,能够用英语撰写研究论文。

二、预修课程无要求。

三、课程内容及学时分配第一章撰写英语论文的主要问题:文献引用,论文结构。

(2学时)第二章各类研究论文的重点和研究设计。

(2学时)第三章实验设计和统计学基本概念:随机现象和随机事件,随机事件的概率,变量和常数,变量的量表,变量及其类型,总体与样本,随机抽样,参数值与估计值,描述性统计和推断性统计,概率分布。

(4学时)第四章归纳数据的方法:图表。

(2学时)第五章描述性数据:集中量数(平均数,中位数,众数),离散量数(全距,平均差,标准差,方差,变异系数),样本估计。

(4学时)第六章概率分布:正态分布,t分布,χ2分布,F分布。

(4学时)第七章参数估计:参数的点估计,参数的区间估计。

(2学时)第八章假设检验:F检验法,t检验法,χ2检验法。

(4学时)第九章方差分析:单因数方差分析,多因数方差分析。

(2学时)第十章相关系数和线性回归:相关系数,一元线性回归,多元线性回归和复相关。

(4学时)第十一章主成分分析和因素分析:主成分分析,因素分析。

(2学时)四、教学方式及教学要求通过对该课程的学习,掌握最基本的研究方法,运用各种实验手段和统计方法进行科学研究。

同时,能够看懂国内外各种相关学科的著作和期刊中所刊登的有关试验分析结果。

五、考核办法考试应该全面反映本大纲的各项教学要求。

考试采取闭卷和开卷两种形式。

闭卷:基本概念和理论。

开卷:实验设计与数据分析,包括计算机软件的使用。

2. 课程目的:了解当代语言学理论(音系学、句法学、语义学)的主要构成理论和发展动态,熟悉基本概念和基本操作,掌握英语和汉语主要语言问题的理论阐释方法。

二、预修课程本科阶段普通语言学或语言学导论等课程。

三、课程内容及学时分配第一章导论:现代语言学和当代语言理论的发展。

(2学时)第二章音系学的语音学基础:语音的生成和感知,发音器官,音段和音段演变,语音标注和国际音标,元音和辅音,协同发音和同化,宽式和严式音标。

(4学时)第三章音系学理论的衍变:音位和音位变体,生成音系学的产生和发展,区别特征,非线性音系学,优选论。

(4学时)第四章超音段:音节,重读,音高、语调和声调。

(2学时)第五章形态学:语素,词根,词干,词缀,构词,新词的形成。

(2学时)第六章转换生成语法理论的衍变:句法分析,X阶标理论,合并理论,约束理论。

(4学时)第七章移位:中心词移位,DP移位,WH移位。

(4学时)第八章逻辑语义学:句义,真值,蕴涵,先设,逻辑语言,量词。

(4学时)第九章动态语义学:指称,意义的动态性,驴子句,话语表达理论。

(4学时)第十章认知语义学:概念结构,事态语义学。

(2学时)四、教学方式及要求教学中以讲课为主,兼顾语言分析方法的实践(通过实验、作业等方式进行)。

本课程是语言学的核心课程,要注意讲清理论脉络,但侧重描述的方法和结果,不纠缠过深、过细的理论问题。

五、考核办法考核一般采取课堂参与、平时成绩和论文结合的方法。

课堂参与占20%,平时成绩占30%,论文占50%。

论文用英语撰写2500-3000词。

论文题目涉及:语言分析,语言理论述评,新书评介等方面。
