一、教学内容分析
本课是人民教育出版社出版的PEP Primary English Books五年级上册Unit4 What can you do? 的第一课时，是一节单词教学课，所学内容是本单元的基础内容。本课要求掌握四个四会词组sweep the floor, cook the meals, clean the bedroom, water the flowers和一个认读词组empty the trash，并能用句型I can 简单介绍自己能做的家务劳动，并在此基础上培养学生自主学习和独立运用所学语言去做事情的能力。本课内容是本单元的基础,与日常生活息息相关,学习中易于理解。学生通过巩固操练，并巧妙运用于情景会话中，将取得良好效果。

三、学习者特征分析
学生在三四年级已经初步接触了 I can句型，并且已经学习了sweep, floor, clean， bedroom等单词并接触了water the flowers, sweep the floor, set the table,make the bed等词组。图片教学和活动教学能引起学生的极大兴趣，更有利于分散教学难点，循序渐进。五年级学生已经有了较好的学习英语的基础，并且能够用一些基本的日常用语来交流，本节课知识点学生应该能容易接受。本课内容与生活实际有着密切的联系，因此，教师在教学中应注意以旧引新，这样既能相对地降低教学难度，也能带领学生温故而知新。
