Instrumentation and alarms
Always carry out a test run with water before productive operation - then the flow control instrumentation can be adjusted and the pressure instruments be checked.
Start the screen in the following sequence:
1 . Ensure the seal water flow (2-5 l/min) 2 . Fill the screen with water 3 . Close the air exhaust valve at the screen cover 4 . Start the screen motor 5 . Open the reject valve (20%), keep accept valve closed, open reject dilution (30%) 6 . Open the feed valve fully 7 . Start the feed pump of the screen 8 . Adjust the feed consistency to the level shown in the flow sheet 9 . Adjust the accept valve to the required flow with the feed valve fully open 10 . Adjust the amount of flow to be discharged as reject with the reject valve 11 . Deaerate the screen through the air exhaust valve on the screen cover and close
When the operating temperature exceeds 65C (prEN563), even short-term surface contact may cause skin burn
All original guards of the screen must be appropriately fastened while the screen is running - do not remove them during operation!
To prevent the screen from plugging one of the most important of the instruments is the pressure difference control alarm The seal water measuring rotameter is equipped with a flow guard which can be connected to the alarm center
During Operation
Use appropriate hoisting equipment when lifting the screen
Before maintenance, stop the drive motor and disconnect it from the electrical supply

Check the maximum feed pressure of the screen from the dimensional drawing appended to the instructions
Do not use the screen at a temperature higher than notified while the order was being made
Before opening the cover of the screen: make sure that the screen is de pressurized make sure that no liquid or stock can flow into the screen
The screen can be started after maintenance only after: the cover of the screen has been closed all original guards have been installed properly

Check belt tensioning, the direction of the motor rotation, foundation, foundation bolts and “V-belt pulley taperlocks”
All maintenance of the screen and its drive motor is forbidden during operation, except:
lubrication of bearings adjusting sealing water flow and pressure de-aeration of the screen
