Uranus
Uranus is the seventh planet from the Sun and It is a gas giant. Uranus is the third largest by diameter and fourth largest by mass. it has the coldest planetary atmosphere in the Solar System.
Uranus is the only planet whose name is derived from a figure from Greek mythology rather than Roman mythology like the other planets.
The adjective of Uranus is "Uranian".
Naming
Uranus is named after the ancient Greek deity of the sky Uranus(Ancient Greek: Οὐρανός), the father of Cronus (Saturn) and grandfather of Zeus (Jupiter), which in Latin became "Ūranus".
Uranus was the Sky in Greek mythology, so it was thought to be dominated by the combined powers of the Sun and Mars. In the Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese languages, its name is literally translated as the "sky king star" (天王星).
Characteristics
Uranus' blue color is the result of absorption of red light by methane(甲烷) in the upper atmosphere.
In astrology, the planet Uranus is the ruling planet of Aquarius. Because Uranus is colored cyan and associated with electricity, and the color electric blue, is associated with the sign Aquarius.
Uranus is composed primarily of rock and various ices, with only about 15% hydrogen(氢) and a little helium(氦) (in contrast to Jupiter and Saturn which are mostly hydrogen).
Uranus revolves around the Sun once every 84 Earth years. Its average distance from the Sun is roughly 3 billion km (about 20 AU)
The rotational period of the interior of Uranus is 17 hours, 14 minutes, clockwise (retrograde). As on all giant planets, its upper atmosphere experiences very strong winds in the direction of rotation.
Satellites
Uranus has 27 known natural satellites. The names for these satellites are chosen from characters in the works of Shakespeare and Alexander Pope(亚历山大·蒲柏). The five main satellites are Miranda[1], Ariel[2], Umbriel[3], Titania[4] and Oberon[5].
