1.Can you play chess? 你会下棋吗？
与play chess 类似的短语：play football/soccer/basketball/volleyball/base ball/chess 注意:在此结构中,表示球类或棋类的名词前不用任何冠词｡
“Can you play the guitar?”中的 play 意为“演奏”, piano, guitar 等乐器名词前要用定冠词 the｡
2. Can she speak English? 她会讲英语吗?
“speak + 语言类名词”表示“讲……语言”｡这时speak 不能用其它动词替代｡
3. I want to join the musi c club.我想加入音乐俱乐部。

1）句中join意为“参加，加入”加入某个团体或组织，成为其中一员。

例如：Tom wants to join the Army军队/Party共产党/League共青团
2）Want to do sth. “想干某事”，后面接动词不定式。

例如：I want to have my own car.
拓展：want sb. to do sth. “想让某人干某事”,后面接动词不定式作宾语补足语

情态动词 can 的用法:
1) 用来询问某人是否有能力做某事｡例如:
—Can you swim? 你会游泳吗?
—Yes, I can. 是的,我会｡/No, I can’t. 不,我不会｡
2) 用来表示请求｡
①用来请求为他人做某事｡例如:
—Can I help you?我能为你做点什么吗?
—Yes, I want to use your pen.我想用用你的钢笔｡
②用来请求他人做某事｡例如:
—Can you help me? 你能帮我忙吗? —Yes, what’s it? 好的,要帮什么忙?
3) 用来表示可能性｡例如:
Can he be here on time tomorrow? 明天他有可能按时到这儿吗?
