大学英语教学是高 等教育的一个有机组 成部分,大学英语课 程是大学生的一门必 修的基础课程,是一 门综合应用性课程。 它作为高校的主要课 程,既是一门公共基 础课,也是本科生学 习的重点学科。

Coming home from school that dark winter’s day so long ago, I was filled with anticipation. I had a new issue of my favorite sports magazine tucked under my arm, and the house to myself. Dad was at work, my sister was away, and Mother wouldn’t be home from her new job for an hour. I bounded up the steps, burst into the living room and flipped on a light. (Para.1)
