Approaches to the Study on Material Foundation of Chinese Medicines

ABSTRACT Aiming at the modernization and internationalization of traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs), the major problems of systematic research of TCMs are discussed. The study of the material foundation has been considered as the key aspect. And the novel strategies based on bioactivity-guided standard multi-component mode has been advanced. Key tech-nologies in the study of material foundation are emphasized with a brief introduction to the technologies for separation and characterization of TCMs.
